Say Love ~Sketch~
Fan art of the music video "Lollipop" by Mika. It has this sort of Little Red Riding Hood story behind it (the video that is). So wanted to play around with drawing the wolf in the video. In it it's this big black mass with green eyes. No real definition to it, but I wanted to give it a semi-realistic style while still maintaining a bit of the style of the way it looks in the video (IE: shape of the muzzle and eye and expression).
Coloring it up in Photoshop CS. Might take some screenshots of it and upload a few here later on.

Sombra Fursuit Sketches
Planning on making a partial fursuit of my fursona, Sombra. I don't want to jump into making a full suit right away so I just want to make a head, hand-paws, tail, and digitigrade legs and then I'll just wear regular clothes. I think I'll just start this over the Christmas break. I'll get more foam, a balaclava, and some elastic so I can at least form the base of it. It'll be my first try with a working jaw, second try making a fursuit head, but it'll be fun.
I sketched out an idea for a corded poodle suit, but I'll scan that in later.

Model Sheets
Haven't really drawn model sheets before, but I had to for class so...this is what I ended up with:
1) Sombra
~Breed: Alaskan Malamute/Finnish Spitz
~Age: 2.5
~Gender: Female
~Personality/Temperament: Given her status as my fursona, it's whatever I'm feeling on any given day.
2) Heaven's Gatekeeper
~Breed: Ibizan Hound (Wirehaired Variety)
~Age: ???
~Gender: Male
~Personality/Temperament: Regal, Kind disposition. Can come across as stuck up at times. Does his best to show goodness and kindness to others.
~Alt. Details: The collar around his neck is his halo. Can be depicted with or without wings (for the purpose of this project though I don't think he needs wings though I might draw him with them later on).
I could go into more detail with Sombra, but it's a little unnecessary. As for the Gatekeeper, since he's more of a one shot character specifically for this project, he's not too developed as a character. Though I might draw him more because you don't see too many people drawing Ibizan Hounds, let alone the wire coated variety...

Excalibur Cosplay WIP
So this is my first attempt at making a cosplay outfit on my own. I made one of Yoh Asakura from Shaman King (or rather attempted to), however I made it in a sewing class and the teacher made most of it.
For anyone who isn't familiar with Excalibur, he's a strange, annoying character from Soul Eater. No one knows what he is but the he takes on the form of a weapon. Just guess which one that is...okay...it's blatantly obvious that he changes to the legendary sword Excalibur. But for his regular form he's some weird penguin, anteater, anthro...thing.
In order to really make this look like him though, I have to buy some fleece and make a top hat. ^^; I want to finish the head at least over Christmas break.

Group of WIPs
Just a few pictures I've had sitting on my computer for a while that I'm working on:
1) Vulpix Portrait
I see Vulpix either based on a Fennec Fox or a small Red Fox. This one's Fennec based and I wanted to play around with it's markings a bit so I gave it a nice face mask. But I left the colors the same so it will be recognizable as Vulpix.
2) D-Techno
This one's been sitting on my laptop for a while. I want to finish it up soon because I'm rather happy with how it's turning out. D-Techno's my blue mutt character (probably a husky mix) that I created off the song D-TechnoLife by UVERworld. Usually I draw her looking more canine, but I wanted to give her a more human-ish look here. That water gave me the most trouble. Sky gave me the second most amount of trouble. Just because the fur isn't done yet doesn't mean I had too much trouble with it...I just take forever to color fur.
3) Baby Vulpix
I haven't worked on this one in a long time either. I think I know what I want to do with the background and how I'm going to do the eyes. I gave this one a more Red Fox look as opposed to the portrait. I really like how the fur's coming along, but I am still a little stuck with what to do with the rest of it.
4) Buck Portrait
Nowhere near done with this one. Buck was definitely my favorite character in Ice Age 3 and I just had to attempt a more realistic take on him.

Redbubble Site: 15% off on Shirts for this week
I had heard about this site before so I decided to try it out. Right now it's not much, but I'm using it to sell t-shirts, greeting cards, and prints. I have two shirt designs up right now for sell. Shirts are 15% off from now until July 30th. So if either of my designs interest you, please don't hesitate to buy them.
And even if you aren't interested in buying anything, feel free to leave comments about the work I have up.

Pokemon Portrait Book for Anime Central 2010
This is the first of hopefully many more pokemon portraits I want to create for Acen next year. I'm well aware that books don't sell well at conventions, but hopefully I can sell them outside of Acen as well. Even though I'll be sharing the images online, the versions online will have watermarks. Also I plan on putting fun little stories along with each picture in the book, not to mention a sort of "foreword" and a tutorial to how I paint fur in photoshop. So not everything in the book will be online.
So far I've got this Vulpix sketched up as well as Spheal and a partially sketched Piplup. Other pokemon I plan on including are:
Houndoom (Red morph)
Houndoom (normal)
Mightyena (Brown morph)
Mightyena (normal)
Pidgeot
Staraptor
Arcanine
Meowth
Persian
Other possibilities are:
Growlithe
Rattata
Glameow
Purugly
Suicune
Absol
My problem with using Suicune would be that its a legendary pokemon and due to my idea of what I want to do with this book, I don't think using a legendary pokemon would work. The others I may use. I would prefer to use pokemon that have natural colors because it will be easier to find references to color those. Arcanine may be a canine, but it's easy to find a reference for its coat colors. A tiger will definitely be used. Spheal, Piplup, and others with unnatural colors will be the tougher ones to color.
It's a lot to try to pull off by next May, but I think I can do it...granted I can just sit down and work really hard.

I needed to add in my plan for a background here. So I looked at a few pictures. Most of them had fox kits playing or laying in tall grasses. So that's what I'm choosing to use here. Initially I was going to add in a fox/wolf den back there so it doesn't look like she wandered too far away from home since she's a baby.
I planned on having this finished in time for Anime Central so I could have something else to sell there. Unfortunately, due to the picture's complexity, I don't think that's a possibility. So I'll just continue working on this slowly. I do want to add in her eyes soon. It just looks weird without them. But I do love how this is coming along.

Storyboards
For my storyboard concept and development class's final project, we have to create a Leica reel for something we hope to turn into a full animation. I chose to create a storyboard for the song "Hero's Come Back" by +nobodyknows from Naruto Shippuuden.
These are the first two. Something to just start me off before I really get started with my final storyboards. These'll probably change a lot for the finished product. My main idea for this was to not create a full story nor animation based on the words of the song. The song's in Japanese anyways. But I wanted to create something based on the mood of it. Hero's Come Back has a pretty upbeat tempo and I always think of a battle when I hear it. That might be some of the influence from Naruto, but I think a fight sequence would go great with this. So basically there's going to be somewhat of an epic battle between my evil characters and a bunch of good characters (some that belong to me and others that do not). This is also gonna double as a gift for some people I consider friends and inspirations. Unfortunately because I think this is going to be difficult enough as it is, I don't think that I could put in everyone and everything that I would want to, but that's okay because I have some more ideas in mind that I could use.
My teacher warned that if I did make an animation out of this that I wouldn't be able to show it off (except maybe as a portfolio piece). I was aware of this, and I'm just using this as an exercise in timing and movement. I do want to make something to go along with the song CaramellDansen as an exercise in lip sync...but perhaps later.

Realistic Vulpix for the Newbie
So I just joined up here 'cause I've lurked around and I like the site layout so I decided to join it. This'll be my site for all my better works as well as stuff I'm working on for animation in terms of storyboards and character designs. So for my first post is the current thing I'm painting: a realistic baby Vulpix.
I may be 19 but I still love pokemon for the sheer fact that they are extremely fun to draw realistically. Vulpix is one of the easier ones to render, but I hope to try my hand at some of the more difficult ones. I had a lot of references for this 'cause I haven't drawn a realistic fox before. But it was a little difficult at first to try to figure out how to render the fur. I used photos as well as 2 tutorials to try it out and I'm really happy with how it's looking so far. For people familiar with pokemon and particularly the pokemon Vulpix, you may (or not) be wondering about why she doesn't have 6 tails. Well I was reading some of the game descriptions of this pokemon and they say that baby Vulpix are born with only one purely white tail and as it grows it splits into 6. So I decided to play off of that and draw a Vulpix with a mostly white tail that's partially split in two.
